Our Seventh Anniversary

The seventh anniversary of Jamesfox.biz marks the close of what has been a year of change. At the beginning of October the Foxy Ladies, Bernie and Pauline, stood down as Admin of the site after many years at the helm, due to personal commitments. The site has continued under a new Admin team and this is the perfect opportunity to once again give a huge Thank You to both Bernie and Pauline for their hard work over the years, and Laura, Trina and Snoopy (Lynn) for taking up the reigns and allowing the site to continue for all the members, including James, to enjoy. The main Jamesfox.biz site has also had a makeover this year with a change of colour scheme, new pages, and links to James new sites and Myspace music player, ready to support the next chapter in his career.

It has been an uncharacteristically quiet year in terms of members getting the chance to see James perform. In September he gave members in the north a rare opportunity to see him on their home turf when he performed an energetic set at Manchester’s 235 Casino. His next personal gig wasn’t until May at the Tredegar Snooker Club, owned by his friend and former World Champion Mark Williams, where he performed at a charity event accompanied by Jon Green.

While it has been a quiet year for the members, it has been far from quiet for James. He has been in heavy demand by the Combined Services Entertainment and has spent much of the past year performing for the British Forces at various bases around the world, including yet another trip to the warzone of Afghanistan. James enthusiasm and commitment to entertaining the men and woman who risk their lives to serve their country is something that gives him a great deal of personal reward. They are certainly an audience well deserving of his many talents.

A twist of fate, that postponed his trip to Afghanistan, meant he was able to go to Wembley to see Cardiff City play for promotion to the Premiership. Unfortunately Cardiff lost on the day but, under pressure from the club and fans alike, James wrote and recorded an updated version of 'Bluebirds Flying High' to mark the occasion. The track was given to the fans as a free download and within hours of it being available nearly 8,000 fans had already downloaded the song.

James’ continued commitment to entertaining the troops, resulted in him being interviewed on BBC Breakfast News in May, accompanied by Services Sound and Vision Corporation Chief Executive Nick Pollard, as he represented all the artists who perform on the Combined Services Entertainment Tours. It was great for the members to see James appearing on national television again, especially relating to his association with such a worthwhile cause, of which he and the members are very proud.

In the rare times James has been home over the past year, he has been very busy writing and recording for his new album, which he says will be more piano based than 'Rocking Chairs and Lemonade'. He added a demo of ‘I’m Leaving New York’ to his Myspace at the end of May as a taster of things to come. This received fantastic feedback as possibly one of his best written songs to date! While his personal focus has been working on his album, James has also been performing with his friends LucieSilvas, Honey Ryder, and Jon Green’s new band The Bonfires, when time allowed. This has given some opportunity for members to see him, including an exclusive all ticket charity event with LucieSilvas at the Bedford.

Just recently James announced the exciting news that he had been cast as the American, one of the lead roles, in the new national tour of Chess. As Jamesbox.biz celebrates it’s 7th anniversary James is already in rehearsals preparing to tread the boards once again. It looks like the year ahead is going to be a very busy one for James and the members. There are already dates all around the country on the calendar for the next 6 months, as well as the promise of a brand new James Fox album on the horizon.

Happy 7th Anniversary Jamesfox.biz! Here’s to a busy and exciting year ahead!!
